After a bad first 28 minutes, K-State forced an Arkansas fumble and scored a touchdown to cut the Razorbacks' lead to 19-9 at halftime. Everybody's thoughts should be with K-State defensive lineman Meshak Williams, who was carted off the field after a violent collision with teammate Emmanuel Lamur. Let's go get this one for Meshak.
Go Cats!

I'm only going by the radio feed,

In fact
He’ll probably want to destroy all tapes of the first half in case a potential Heisman voter could get his/her hands on it.

Even in turnovers.
And we’ve had 3 passes dropped that should have been caught.
Not to mention a long running play called back because of motion penalty.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012

UMDBHIK - January 6, 2012

Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
Arkansas' passing game has been a little surprising.
They’re not throwing a bunch of underneath and mid-range stuff, which is what usually kills us (see, e.g., OU). Find seams in the zone, give the receiver a chance to make plays in space. Instead, they pretty much only throw it over the top.
Just an observation.
TB - January 6, 2012
I think they thought our corners weren't as good as they are, and Zimm and Hartman are playing inspired football.
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012

I go back and forth on this concept
On one hand there’s no denying Jones’ is frickin’ good. Don’t understand why OU people think he’s no good because he’s excelleng, BUT…..
Whatever the ‘IT’ factor that Tebow or Klein posses to make up for their shortcomings in athleticism, I think Jones is the inverse of that. He just knows how to lose, and derp at the right (or wrong depending on your perspective) moments.
GTcat - January 6, 2012
Jones just does not pass well under pressure.
He wasn’t helped much by his receivers, Broyles excepted, either. The Tech game… man, those guys weren’t even reaching for catchable balls while Jones was trying to mount a comeback.
jonfmorse - January 6, 2012
Precisely
Excellent analysis, Jon. Jones was good in the Tech game, but his receivers were not. Onwards towards the end of the year, though, Jones wasn’t helping his cause either by throwing high and wide.

Ok
I apologize for saying Klien throw good slant passes…..His wind up is way to long….Passes get kocked down at the LOS waaaayyy to often.
KSUEMAW! - January 6, 2012
Nothing wrong with that pass...the DB made a good play on the ball.
Catbacker98 - January 6, 2012
Tis the windup
Hopefully he can shorten it in the offseason, because it would really expand his passing game and is one of the few weaknesses he has.
2.1 seconds left - January 6, 2012
Okay - 3 and out or a turnover here!
Furnace76 - January 6, 2012
What do the visions tell you, man?!? What is Herbie in a hula skirt telling you?!?!?!?!
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
Nigel will get a pick sometime soon
Furnace76 - January 6, 2012
You are a wise man.
MrHappyMushroom - January 6, 2012
I could go for a pick 6 right about now.
UMDBHIK - January 6, 2012
Arky is getting sick of your defense - hang in there.
Snide Aside - January 6, 2012
Loved the tweet from ESPN in the first half...
…that K-State isn’t built for comebacks.
This is the group that calls itself the worldwide leader in sports.*
*Yes, I fully realize we haven’t even tied the game yet.
TB - January 6, 2012
Not the slant pass....The 3rd down pass got batted at the line
KSUEMAW! - January 6, 2012
You need your receivers to hang onto those passes.
Snide Aside - January 6, 2012
So Klien's going to declare for the draft....right?
MeatchickenHorn - January 6, 2012
After next season.
Itchy n Scratchy - January 6, 2012
Probably
Unless the Broncos win this weekend.
Ahearn Alley - January 6, 2012
Giant holding in the middle no call.
Catbacker98 - January 6, 2012
ugh I hate zone defense
KSUEMAW! - January 6, 2012
It works so well for us....
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
Chris Cosh up to his usual high standards (insert sarcasm button here)
KSUEMAW! - January 6, 2012
He plays the "they won't catch it card" too much.
Catbacker98 - January 6, 2012
Which is bad tonight...
…because I’ve been really impressed by Arkansas’ receivers catching the ball.
TB - January 6, 2012
Not as much pressure on QB without Meshak
Furnace76 - January 6, 2012
Wave that towel, Joe!

Nice butt tackle by Lamur
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012

Catbacker98 - January 6, 2012

I hate to say it...
…but I’ve been worried about something like that with Hartman all year.
TB - January 6, 2012
sucky way to go out in your SR year
appreciated your effort in your 4yrs Tysyn….oh and my mom always tells me too some lame connection on how I’m related to you. Like no closer than 4th cousins. So I don’t really count that, but hey if it’s true that’s cool too.

Too much time back there...
perhaps a blitz there Cosh?
Catbacker98 - January 6, 2012
Nope ... we will play a zone instead.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
I disagree
Dropping 7 or 8 in the redzone is better than any other time, because the space is so compacted. Just couldn’t anticipate it well enough, or get enough pressure with the line.
2.1 seconds left - January 6, 2012
Almost a spectacular play by whoever skied for the deflection.
Itchy n Scratchy - January 6, 2012

Panjandrum - January 6, 2012

ludashoeless - January 6, 2012
I agree ...
But then, I don’t think much of Landry Jones. Really inaccurate. He’s throwing to wide open guys all the time.
Itchy n Scratchy - January 6, 2012
By far.
He’s more mobile, and he doesn’t miss by 10 feet when he has to throw on even the slightest run.
TB - January 6, 2012

Soft zone on 3rd again...
ksu-cjw88 - January 6, 2012
Especially one play after we forced a bad throw with pressure in his face
TB - January 6, 2012
It's what I have been sayin all year, along with almost everyone else on BOTC
Griffen, Landry, Weeden, all of the great qbs in the Big 12 do not look the same with pressure in their face. Almost no one does.
ksu-cjw88 - January 6, 2012
I think that is part of the reason
that the SEC gets the reputation for not playing offense. We actually put pressure on the QB and hit them. A lot.
El Kabong!!! - January 6, 2012
And you have some ridiculous defensive linemen
TB - January 6, 2012
Big linebackers, too.
A lot of 3-4 teams that use the linebackers to rush instead of the DL.
El Kabong!!! - January 6, 2012
Don't make me post the quote about Cosh again.
Stop ‘em. Make ’em go backwards. Score from forcing a turnover. None of this frigging ’we just need to outscore the other team so it doesn’t matter if you let them get a first down or score.’
That is just a piss poor attitude for a defensive coordinator. Your job as DC is to stop the other team, to put your players in a place where they can stop the other team. To teach the players how to get in position and execute to stop the other team. Anything other than completely taking the other team out of their plans is not acceptable.
Get a clue Cosh.

The players? We LOVE the players.
We love them so much that their constant misuse and being placed in position to fail angers us beyond reason.

And as always, more elegant. Sometime I wish I was of Morse.
Ahearn Alley - January 6, 2012

jonfmorse - January 6, 2012
Don't you mean,
“Hear ye, Here ye! Being of Morse has its drawbacks.”?
MrHappyMushroom - January 6, 2012
KSU is just playing coy.
They’re going to blow Arky out of the water.
El Kabong!!! - January 6, 2012
Our DC, well our feelings are the exact opposite.
Ideally he will get hired at KU and do for Weis whas he’s done for K-State.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
That's why we're not criticizing the players
They can’t make the right plays if the coaches are making stupid calls. We’re generally pretty consistent about this around here.
Ahearn Alley - January 6, 2012
But if we try the soft zone for the threeve time, it might work .....
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
threeve? I LOL'd
dukeoforange - January 6, 2012
D actually played uncharacteristically well tonight
They’ve had good spurts in games this year: UT, Baylor, MU, Miami but I think this performance was the most sustained well playing. Though you could see them running out of gas in the 2nd half of the 4th qtr.
GTcat - January 6, 2012
The D, for the most part, has PLAYED well all season.
It’s not their fault their boss is a moron.

WTF!!?
horndude - January 6, 2012
exporting him to the SEC blogs was worth ending the rivalry IMO
dukeoforange - January 6, 2012
I don't know that the SEC recognizes the insanity they've invited into their conference.
Missouri I will not root for them but I hope they do not fail. aTm … I’ll just laugh at any failure.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
still dont get Missouri move
other than embarrassment at not getting into the Big 10 what else could they be mad about. It’s not like we kicked their ass for 110 years like we did to aTm. They built their complex up over a century but Missouri? They just dont belong in the $EC.
dukeoforange - January 6, 2012
PAAAAAWWWWWWLLLLLL,
Why the hell did we let Missouri in our conference?
horndude - January 6, 2012
hah!
dukeoforange - January 6, 2012
Missouri's move is more of a perception thing than anything else.
They want to be relevant and moving to the SEC they think will help this.
The perception of some is that Texas is evil and will basically kill any conference. Notice that the teams that play with Texas are not the ones making the argument, it is the teams that lose to Texas regularly that make the argument.
Personally I like Texas and enjoy the games, even when we lose.
KS, OK and TX are all similar states so I’m glad (and hope it continues) the Big XII continues to survive.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
It will survive. The misanthropes are all gone now.

enjoyed this game thread immensely, some of you have said, one of the best ever here at bringonthecats.com Well we all know why this is, and yes you are welcome for our presence. Now enjoy the warm glow of our awesomeness that is Texas Fight. May the horn Gabriel lull you to sleep and may you dream of Mack Brown kicking your ass (cuz it will only happen in a dream sequence and not reality).

EMAW 4 Ever - January 6, 2012
In all seriousness guys
You have a class program run by a great coach. I expected to hear a lot of SEC hate in here tonight and was pleasantly surprised that there was not much at all.
I’d love to have our coach, the Dark Evil Lord and Master himself Nick Saban to schedule you guys for a home and home, or even a neutral site game, I think it would be a fun matchup.
Your team played hard and did well. You should be proud of the results. Arky is a tougher team than a lot of people give them credit for.

jonfmorse - January 6, 2012
Dude
We were having a moment. Why’d you have to go and ruin it like that?
Ahearn Alley - January 6, 2012
After what some of those guys said about Alabama
When they should be bitching about the BCS, I lost pretty much all of my respect for their fanbase.
Got no problem with them being hurt after being left out of the title game. There is a reason why the SEC has been lobbying for a playoff for years now. But to hate on the team that got there ahead of you when we did nothing but what we were supposed to have done was uncalled for.
It is like they expected Saban to step up and say, “No thank you, we were planning on going to Shreveport this year.”
El Kabong!!! - January 6, 2012
there are losers in every bunch.
I’m sure if the interwebs were around for the first time ‘Bama got snubbed for their first legitimate chance at a nat’l title someone in your bunch would say something stupid too…it’s sports man. I get sick of it too, but to think that one particular fanbase (other than Nebraska of course—see this is part of the joke) is littered with more than another is just short sighted.
GTcat - January 7, 2012

Our OL was just pathetic tonight. Horrendous.
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
Very much so
Aside from the mental mistakes, dropped passes and shoddy special teams play, I felt the one clear physical difference in the game was their d-line against our O-line. Every play our LT was just being driven back 5 yards by their RE. Every play.
CT-K-Stater - January 7, 2012

I drove through your state in Sept. for the first time in a long time. Beautiful state. Even dropped in Fayettville to see for myself how “good of a fit culturally” Arkansas would relate to Big12 country. dropped by the Stadium. Neat campus.
You know I had pipe dreams of you in our conference (yea I know that’s why I said pipe dreams). And well it was about what I expected. It geographically felt like a tweener state. Just like MO. Woulda loved to have ya, but some things just aren’t meant to be. Kind of like you on this board for the next 24hrs. It’s just not fitting right now. Feel free to come around later, just please give us the recuperation time to bounce back from a loss, would ya?

The SEC had three really great teams this year. The Big 12 had one great one and three really good ones.
However, top to bottom, the Big 12 was better. The SEC East was garbage this year. Vandy went to a bowl for God’s sake.

Not going to get into it on a KSU board, but the Big XII was very comparable to the SEC this year, especially top to bottom.
MU'97 - January 7, 2012
Vandy was good this year.
Georgia won 11, South Carolina won 11, Arky won 11, Alabama won 11, LSU won 13. Everyone but Ole Miss and Kentucky went to a bowl.

SEC has more BCS wins & bowl wins. I don’t like it but its the truth.
RZB1 - January 6, 2012
What are you trying to prove?
No one here said the Big 12 was better.
The Big 12 and the SEC are the two best conferences in college football. The SEC, currently, has a lot of momentum and is riding a great wave of success.
So, congrats on that.

Like maybe, “With a one armed QB, and your OL is played by mascots.”
You guys act like we live on the Equator. Manhattan isn’t that far north of Fayetteville or Lexington.
El Kabong!!! - January 6, 2012
Have you done any research on the difference in climate for the latitudes? Or are you just posting?
For example Lincoln, NE is much colder than Manhattan, KS and it is only a 2 hour travel time. Mahattan is much cooler than Stillwater, OK (approximately same latitude as U of Ark).
Playing when it is in the 40F is much more difficult when you are used to warmer weather. The last time we played Texas in MHK, it was chilly and we won big. The previous time to this year, aTm lost big. Both times is was cold, not chilly but cold. we are used to it, but it does effect play if you are not used to it.
We loved snow days when I was growing up because we could play football and have fun in the snow.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
Dude I live on the Gulf Coast and it was in the 20's last week.
It also gets cold here, I promise you.
El Kabong!!! - January 6, 2012
Yeah, and they probably canceled school because of it.
Let’s not act like it’s equivalent.
TB - January 6, 2012
I've lived in FL
And when the low temps are measured in hours is much different than when it gets cold for extended periods of time.
I dislike NE temperatures a great deal, so I know what I’m talking about. Have you ever spent time in a place where you only have 9 days above freezing for 3 months? I have and although KS is cold it is not semi-frozen tundra.
Playing football in cold weather, i.e. below 50F, is much different than playing when the weather is nice. Like I said come play in Nov/Dec and see how the weather effect play.

Anon_the_younger - January 7, 2012
I'm guessing with all the trees in the mountains in that state + valleys
There’s plenty of places for moisture to not escape from while also being warm. I lived in Nashville for a winter, spring and summer.
GTcat - January 7, 2012
Aug in KS.
One of my classmates did a report on high heat incidence days. KS had as high of ranking as any state in the SE.
For example. KS will regularly see temps above 100F in Jul and Aug, in Manhattan (in a river valley) there is also 50%+ humidity.

Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
Well, I'd like to see how the game played out
if we didn’t give them their 1st 3 pts and the refs gave them the next 7. Ten points was too much to overcome. Our defense was playing lights out early. And we missed Meshak, — I think it limited what we could do and the packages we could run.
But proud of the effort

see you guys tomorrow for the hoops thread!
ksu&warpaint - January 6, 2012
Bama fan
Tough loss Cats. This is Synders first year back right? I have said it before but he should have been hands down Coach of the Year. He is pure class. You guys gave a bright future.
Aaron.50cal - January 6, 2012
thanks
Snyder’s 3rd year back
Furnace76 - January 6, 2012
I agree.
El Kabong!!! - January 6, 2012
Third year back. Thanks.
See, guys, this is a good visitor.
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
This is his 3rd year?
Wow, well regardless he brought K-state football back.
Aaron.50cal - January 6, 2012
For a second time
Ahearn Alley - January 6, 2012
classy comments
thanks for stopping by!
powercat12 - January 6, 2012
Enjoyed reading your blog throughout the game.
Thank you.
Aaron.50cal - January 6, 2012
We appreciate it. You're welcome back any time.
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
Can we trade tamu for you guys?
Aaron.50cal - January 6, 2012
Works for me.
But I grew up rooting for Bama.
Thanks for the kind words.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
Sorry, we're proud Big 12 members.
You’re stuck with Aggy.
And thanks for stopping by.
TB - January 6, 2012
Bummer....
Well run the Big 12 next year. Later Cat fans.
Aaron.50cal - January 6, 2012
We intend to.
BlackCats - January 7, 2012 via mobile
NO TAKEBACKS.
You just got the worst university that competes in major college athletics.
You may want to invest in some Hazmat suits. Your conference just got toxic.
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
What he means to say is
A&M sucks.
BlackCats - January 7, 2012 via mobile
Actually OU sucks, tAMU is just....well, shitty!
Snide Aside - January 7, 2012
no offense
I actually like this league. I know it probably looks disfunctional from the outside, but we figured out how to be the little engine that can. No need to set ourselves back half a decade. It only took us 8 decades to get to where we were in the 90s.
GTcat - January 7, 2012
Thank you
And good luck to ‘Bama. Only because I want to see OSU get some votes for the national championship, but still, I’ll be pulling for you.
Ahearn Alley - January 6, 2012
Appreciate it.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
Hate the loss, loved the season
That was one hell of a season for the football team. I’m damned proud to be a K-State fan!
powercat12 - January 6, 2012
As am I.
Never happier to be a Wildcat
IndianaCatFan - January 6, 2012
Arkansas fan here saying congrats Kansas State on a great year and hard-fought game.
Showed a lot of grit coming back and making things way too close for comfort for my Hogs.
RazorHawk - January 6, 2012
Much appreciated.
Y’all have a helluva team.
TB - January 6, 2012
I thought it could have been much worse with how well Arkansas throws the ball and Wilson's skill.
Thanks for the kind words. Great season for Arkansas.
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
Your QB is under appreciated. Some might sweet passes.
We were out played and coached tonight.
Congratulations on the win.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
Congrats guys
Y’all had quite an amazing season… too bad we won’t see each other next season.
miz_zou - January 6, 2012
Damn shame
TB - January 6, 2012
But we will see you tomorrow
Should be a good one.
Ahearn Alley - January 6, 2012
Hope so!
miz_zou - January 6, 2012
It's tough for me
Because objectively, Mizzou’s style of play is so much more fun to watch, but I’m well aware that the uglier the game is, the better chance K-State has to win.
Ahearn Alley - January 6, 2012
I honestly expect y'all to win tomorrow
miz_zou - January 6, 2012
We hope but it will depend on which team shows up.
Mizzou I think is fairly consistent this season, so that will help y’all.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
If the Mizzou team that showed up against ODU & illilljidafji shows up
Then we lose bad. (sorry, can’t type their dirty name)
miz_zou - January 6, 2012
Beat KU twice and it will make up for it.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
That's all I ever want haha
miz_zou - January 6, 2012
It was a pretty good game
KSU was just never in it’s comfort zone tonight
IndianaCatFan - January 6, 2012
GO STATE
Amazing season.
@xmcgraw - January 6, 2012
Shout out to all the classy fans stopping by and leaving comments
thanks for keeping it classy guys.
powercat12 - January 6, 2012
KSU....We'll carry the banner high!!!!
IndianaCatFan - January 6, 2012
Purple Kansas boys left it on the field tonight.
They are to be commended.
Snide Aside - January 6, 2012
Something to think about...
The core of our team comes back next year, and we’ve recruited really, really well thus far. Hopefully, we finish strong because what we’re infusing in is greater than what is going out.
We picked up a really nice tackle prospect and Foketi will probably get a sixth year. I think things look good in 2012.
Also, you never know, Bryce may come back.
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
agreed
Cats should be a top 3 team next season
powercat12 - January 6, 2012
in the Big XII that is
powercat12 - January 6, 2012
I'm hoping for another ten win season. That would be just special.
And then we get Sams in 2013 for our first season post castle press box.
:drools:
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
will be tough next year but...
we return a TON of talent and should be even better. I’ll shit my pants if we can win 10 games again next year.
IndianaCatFan - January 6, 2012
Good game, K State. I wish you guys good luck in the Big 12 next year
Hope your players make a full & speedy recovery. Go Hogs!
Stubob72556 - January 6, 2012
Thanks.
Panjandrum - January 6, 2012
Stubob's class.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
Seemed like tonight that the offense never really got in a good rhythm
we had one good drive and that seemed like that was it. Colin never looked comfortable.
powercat12 - January 6, 2012
Here is the way I see it next year - from a UT fans perspective
Assuming that WVU joins the conference, we will finish in this order – top to bottom:
1. Texas (with average QB play)
2. OU (sucks)
3. KSU
4. WVU
5. TCU
6. TTU
7. Baylor (If RBII goes to The League)
8. Okie Lite
9. Iowa State
10. Kansas
UT will lose one game next year to KSU (we are cursed with you A-holes!) :-)
Snide Aside - January 6, 2012
So, what you really mean when you take the homer goggles off, is
1. KSU
2. OU (sucks)
3. Texas
4. etc
jonfmorse - January 6, 2012
No, I never really mean't to say that!
Snide Aside - January 6, 2012
You know what's really going to happen.
Roll Damn Toad or Country Roads waltzes in and wins the title.
jonfmorse - January 6, 2012
What about...Country Rhoads???
God, I kill myself sometimes.
TB - January 6, 2012
Apt description though.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
Roll Toad!
Go team purple!
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
LOL - hardly, both TCU and WVU will wonder WTF - and then bolt to the Moutain West.
Snide Aside - January 6, 2012
I'm not sure if Ok State drops that much
powercat12 - January 6, 2012
They need a big play receiver replacement.
Anon_the_younger - January 6, 2012
Arkie fan thanks y'all for a great game
Congratulations to you for your solid season and your class-act coach. Sorry for any Arkansas or SEC trolls here tonight, and hope Williams is going to be o.k.
Arkie_G-Unit - January 6, 2012
No need to apologize for others.
Appreciate your comments.
TB - January 7, 2012
Thanks, don't worry about the trolls
Enough Arkie fans have shown class in victory that we think well of y’all.
Anon_the_younger - January 7, 2012
No way you are an arky fan - who are you really? :-)
Snide Aside - January 7, 2012
Just a fan of college football
But especially the Arkansas variety.
Arkie_G-Unit - January 7, 2012
Shoot, this blog didn't get trolled - you want to see trolling, go to BON.
Snide Aside - January 7, 2012
What is BON?
astrosmurf - January 7, 2012
Kidding?
astrosmurf - January 7, 2012
BON = Burnt Orange Nation (a UT blog)
Snide Aside - January 7, 2012
I, myself and even though stunningly handsome and intelligent, have been know to troll a time or two.
Which is acceptable if it is creative and subtle. It can be an art form when done right.
Snide Aside - January 7, 2012
Rec'd that!
astrosmurf - January 7, 2012
Unfortunately not all understand that subtle trolling is an art, while blunt trolling is crude and distgusting.
Anon_the_younger - January 7, 2012
Rec'd that too!
astrosmurf - January 7, 2012
Blunt trolling is mostly just stupid!
Generally it is crude, inane, boring, profane, pointless, irrelevant and…..wait, are we talking about the aggies?
Snide Aside - January 7, 2012
I go to different sites to broaden my opinion and learn, not to PROVE MY POINT!!!
I can always tell a troll, because they always look to prove you wrong, no matter what you say, and their on your site.
astrosmurf - January 7, 2012
There are some good trolls.
EDSBS has plenty that are expert at it, and I mean ones that get a response without you realize that is what they were going for.
There are a couple on here, that you have to watch as well.
Anon_the_younger - January 7, 2012
What is this EDSBS?
Snide Aside - January 7, 2012

It is humor par excellence.
Idiot fans do not stick around long. And if your post gets a T-Rex or spider, you are doing it wrong.
Also be prepared to read quickly when the commertariat is in form.
Anon_the_younger - January 7, 2012
At TexAgs, aggies troll themselves!
Snide Aside - January 7, 2012
Anyone else like me
when we crossed midfield on that last drive, get upset when we didn’t call a timeout after that first snap right around 1:03 left on 2nd and 15? I just knew we’d hurry up and patch together a crappy play that wouldn’t result in a first down, plus drain the clock. Don’t think we would have won persay, but thought it would go a lot further than what we ended up doing.
GTcat - January 7, 2012
Found this on Arkansas Expats
Stubob72556 - January 7, 2012
I asked them to email the image to me. Love those old-timey programs.
TB - January 7, 2012
Well, all you lovely purple Kansas people
It’s late and I must hit the shower. Congrats, once again, on a hard fought game and you held the Big 12 banner high. Arkansas had all of you they could stand and are saying “no mas”.
Snide Aside - January 7, 2012
Thanks for stopping by Snide, for your kindness we promise to only beat you guys
6 out of the next 8 games in football. I kid, I kid. I keep wondering when it’s going to end. Though I like our chances at home in 2012 vs y’all unless the conf office decides to do some schedule jockying (please come to our conf in 2012 WVU!), though I think 2013 UT’s probably in the nat’l title hunt again.
GTcat - January 7, 2012
Hey, all you Big 12 guys, its been fun. I live out west now, but I grew up around Wichita.
Any chance you could help us get into the Big 12? Anyway, had to try. Thanks for lettin me hang out. You guys are a class act. Congrats on a good season. Remember, you won the Texas Championship. Sorry Snide. Talk to ya next time….
astrosmurf - January 7, 2012
I grew up west of Wichita myself. Thanks for stoppin by, hope you didn't feel too much
like a stranger. Keep your turf watered, don’t want it lose its hue. I think about the only way we invite you to our conference if you can somehow rearrange a map so that Colorado borders Washington and Idaho borders Kansas. I don’t own any college paraphenallia outside of my KSU stuff but I have thought about buying a Georgia Tech hat (because I could wear my initials on my head) and a Boise State hat (if I could find one with that grey oversized Bronco that shows up on 1 side of your helmet sometimes) from time to time…
I’ve appreciated Boise for some time. 2007 Fiesta probably sealed the deal, but I appreciated them before that. I just hate our BCS system. It’s hard enough to go undefeated in a single season, but I feel like Boise has to go undefeated 3 consecutive years to prove their worth to be considered a candidate for the title. And if you lose 1 game in those 3 years, that cycle has to start over from scratch. I hope your athletic department gets great frequent flyer miles!
GTcat - January 7, 2012
Thanks GT, Come visit OBNUG sometime, everybody is real nice(no swearin)use BW(bad word) instead.
But we’d like more input from Big 12 fans. Nebraska didn’t like us, and OU fans still think their superior, go figure. And why the heck is Colorado in the Pac 12 anyway?
Boise is a great town, and the blue field is a fun experience. Just think, we’ll be flying right by Kansas quite a bit???? Were closer than WV aren’t we? Just sayin. Over & out….
astrosmurf - January 7, 2012
I'll think about it.
I think part of the appreciation is Boise’s just the exaggerated version of KSU. They rose from the ashes, and of course are much smaller. Lot’s of similarities, just seems like BSU took those similarities to the nth degree.
GTcat - January 7, 2012
Hey GT, I take that as a complement. That being said,
I grew up in Kansas, and don’t think I don’t know about the KU/KSU rivalry. Cities & towns be divided. However, at the same time, I also know what great schools they both are. I can say that without too much backlash, now. I’m far enough away.
However, all kidding aside, in comparison Boise St does not yet possess the century old tradition, greek & academics you have there. They are close to OSU, and now TCU, and are most certainly making great strides to narrow the gap. It would speed that process up, if somehow we could also be a part of the Big !2.
The Big East is a good move for now, and might turn out to have even better results than we could have expected? All that is an if? The Big 12 now, would be PERFECT!!!!
IMHO, K St is a bit/lot better than KU in football, and KU is a bit/lot better than K St in BBall. Do I have that right? If not, why do I find myself rooting for each as such?
Anyway, thanks for your response, I like the connection with my roots..
astrosmurf - January 8, 2012
FYI
Anon_the_younger - January 7, 2012
Great news.
It was a very good effort by K State. You guys should be proud of your team.
MU'97 - January 7, 2012
Great year K-State! Snyder has y'all on the right track no surprise there (keep the smash mouth style going, I like that style)....
Was impressed by all the Big 12 solidarity on the thread. I have seen a lot of comments on other blogs suggesting that is not always the case. Good luck next year, beat the Horns again and always.
mjtig - January 7, 2012
Thanks man, Now you guys can help to and beat the sooners in Dallas next year
EMAW 4 Ever - January 7, 2012
Well a disappointing game to say the least.
Didn’t play our best game of the year, that’s for sure. Was really impressed by the defensive effort, though. It’s too bad ’shake and Hartman got hurt. I thought they were both playing the best games of their career up until their injuries.
The receivers were awful. Klein played alright. Couldn’t get much going on the ground, but threw the ball nicely. I’m pained to wonder what would have happened if those balls weren’t dropped.
Anyway, credit to Arkansas. They’ve got a good squad. And against a team of that caliber, you just can’t make the mistakes we made last night.
Phenomenal season. Was a lot of fun in these parts this year. Thanks as always to TB, Pan, BC, morse, and Ahearn for the hard work. Can’t wait til next year!
Now, Frank and the Junkyard Cats, please don’t allow this to be the worst K-State sports week in recent memory!
