K-State travels to Lubbock tonight in search of its third-straight conference win when it takes on the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Tech is winless in conference play, and I'd prefer we keep it that way.
If you can, I highly recommend listening to the radio broadcast tonight, which will feature Brian Smoller on the play-by-play. Smoller is one of the best broadcasters I've ever heard. At the same time, our sympathies to Wyatt Thompson and his family as they mourn the death of his father this week.

Regardless of what happened at Baylor, I don't trust Mizzou as a road team.
Not yet, anyway. Baylor isn’t exactly the best homecourt advantage. Plus it’s a classic letdown game. They just beat a top-five team on the road and are playing a mediocre but feisty team, also on the road.

Some observations from campus today.
I saw a kid that looked like he was in grade school headed to a class.
The fashion that the young ladies are wearing of tall boots … isn’t almost as bad as the UGGs fad.
The campus was more friendly before people walked around with texting and such.

Knight had a senior-laden team last year, and coached the whole year on the hot seat after having a semi-warm seat the year before that. End result was pretty shitty recruiting, and when you combine that with the fact that Tech’s defense started sliding every year under Knight then you get what you see now: an offensively challenged defensive team with players not used to playing really good defense.

I was growing up in Manhattan at the time and it took me so long to get into college basketball just because they just could not deliver, ever. I remember a game against OU where Kevin Bookout just beasted a rebound at the end of the game that ended up deciding it, and I was just like “Are you serious? How many times do we have to do this?.” And then we’d go lose to TTech or A&M or Missouri the next week.

…my best friend during law school was an A&M grad and a huge Aggie fan. He got absolutely hammered after the Aggies beat KU in AFH that night, and sat on the balcony of his apartment, which overlooked I-45 in downtown Houston, and threw frozen biscuits onto the freeway.

Defense though I used to have fun at the rec stopping 2 on 1 or 3 on 2 breaks. Not to mention blocking shots, I play a little taller than 6’ 4" (or I did)
