This essentially is the same feature as yesterday, except there is some brief discussion of yesterday's games after the jump.
It again will function as an open discussion thread throughout the day, including for K-State's game against Oklahoma State, because I don't have time to set up a "normal" open game thread.
Also, sorry I forgot to have a poll yesterday. I've rectified that mistake today.

Well, Tech's not gonna beat KU, so perish the thought. I also give Nebraska less than a 10-percent chance to up-end the Aggies, and even if they do, there's no way the Huskers will beat KU, either — so the morning games are sort of uninteresting to me as far as K-State's prospects are concerned.
But that's what happens when you have upsets.
On the south side of the bracket, both top seeds advanced, setting up a pair of doozies today. Any two of these four teams could advance to tomorrow and it wouldn't surprise me.
As hard is this is for Cat fans to do, if we survive Okie Lite, we need to be loud Texas fans in the nightcap. I'd much rather have to face a Longhorn team playing its third game (that still doesn't look like much of a team) than the Bears in just their second.
Three out of four ain't bad, and it fits with my 5-1 pattern all season long.
I'm not really surprised Colorado lost, since it's hard to beat a team twice in five days, but I am a little surprised it got away from them in the second half after they had a strong start. Maybe the Buffs aren't quite as improved as we thought, because Tech snapped a seven-game losing streak and just isn't that good.
Missouri absolutely delivered a belly-flop, albeit an amusing one. I think they're still in the NCAA Tournament, but Mizzou sure gave the committee some reasons to question it.
Oklahoma State's gonna be a handful tonight for K-State. Worse yet, they did it without using James Anderson that much. I think we need to play the guy straight up, and not allow Keiton Page and Obi Muonelo to beat us the way Oklahoma did.
For much of the game, I thought Iowa State could seize the win, and although the Cyclones hung in there, they never jumped in front when the opportunities presented themselves, thus allowing Texas to maintain a slight edge the whole way. Plus, their crowd only got loud a few times, when it could have created a nice home advantage for them instead.

The funny thing to me
Is that even though I consider myself a HUGE K-State fan, I still am not truely engaged in the KU-KSU rivalry – and never have. I’ve never experienced really these types of fans. I grew up outside of Big 12 country, went to K-State, and I now live outside the Kansas-Kansas State fan bubble. I don’t get to experience these interactions.
I’ve only been to Lawrence for non-sporting event reasons. Hell I even had a roommate from Lawrence and still never felt the rivalry.
I know every fan base has these types of fans, so I find it amusing to hear odd comments like these. I don’t typically agree with these comments, but sometimes like to hear about them.

I just find...
hand-picked comments funny, because we’ve all got the ammunition and it’s just what you choose to hear.
I heard a 50-60 year old man at the KSU/Ku football game this year screaming to his friend that “he knows football and this is a top ten team!!!!” after Daniel Thomas had a nice run.
I also had a KState fan in my office tell me that we didn’t have anyone that could matchup with Dominique Samuels.

Serious demographic question:
Which team is trending Hispanic faster: Nebraska or K-State?
They’ve got Gallegos and Diaz; we’ve got Clemente, Colon and Henriquez-Roberts.
I don’t know who they have coming in, but we’re probably gonna get Angel Rodriguez and with Frank sticking around, I don’t see the Florida pipeline shutting down anytime soon.
In five years, it might look like a street brawl in Juarez when these two play, given how much both coaches like defense.

I felt like
while watching on TV at work that this game had a much bigger feel to it than past games. Except Texas and KU games, and even the Texas game doesn’t feel that big anymore. I know it should feel that way because its post-season but I think being the 2 seed had a part of it too. Because of our seed, and it being the first time in forever being this high, it is like a new experience for quite a few KSU fans. I was there 2 years ago when we lost to A&M and didn’t play so great and lost. Even then with Beasley and Walker we couldn’t get it done but this time we did. We showed we have our high-level game back and we will hopefully move past Baylor tomorrow.
Anyway glad we played so well, started off extremely well, got Frank his first Big 12 Tourney win, and made a big statement that we are a different team than the one that lost its last two games.
