In other news, if you are watching miami vs wisconsin in their bowl game, im diggin miami’s uniform numbers. I think that would look sweet in some purple and silver
Liked what I saw there. Guys taking advantage of the soft spots in the defense, by making mid-range jumpers and getting to the hoop. Don’t just rely on outside shooting.
My group of 4 got there about 5 minutes through the first half and wandered around looking for a seat for 10 minutes. Found 4 seats on separate rows and right after the P.A. announcer asked for people to squeeze in.
I got to see my first game in decades with my son and nephew and was in awe of all the purple. No GA seats left ($15 was a good deal). Only some stay at home season ticket holders, good student section too. Very fun night except the drive back home.
I was impressed with our speed and defense. Denis has some sick passing skills, and sometimes it looks like Dom doesn’t know what to do with the ball, but CK and Wally are good additions. Too funny when the subs got pulled back out after 30 sec in the game, final 2 min.
1. I think Denis Clemente leads the league in airballs on three-pointers. Nothing against the guy, just an observation. When he starts leaning back or tries that step-back, he’s lucky to draw rim.
2. Great defensive first half.
3. I have always hated the slow-down offense, and these guys just look wrong standing around. It takes them out of their rhythm, and you get the sloppy play like we saw the last couple possessions. I understand the rationale, but still think it’s better to just let these guys keep doing what they’re doing.
4. Considering that CSU played zone almost the entire first half, that was a very, very good offensive showing.
I was happy to watch that game. After a miserable start, the talent gap really showed. Good work boys. Do that again against SD and we’ll be all set for the Tiggers.
someone must find a picture of Dom ’splayin that monster jam and a picture/video of him afterwards pointing and saying “This is my house!”. ’Twas sweet.
WE COME FROM THE LAND OF ICE AND SNOW!
VALHALLA, I AM COMING…
Man, let’s get this junk started! Feels like weeks since we played a game.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
I want to see a showcase tonight, not just a closer-than-it-should-have-been 12 point win.
AMS - December 29, 2009
Word
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Who else is getting angry?
I. AM. ANGERED.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Lu's back in the starting lineup
I like it. Sets a physical tone early.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Lets go Cats!
In other news, if you are watching miami vs wisconsin in their bowl game, im diggin miami’s uniform numbers. I think that would look sweet in some purple and silver
Clubbzilla - December 29, 2009
Well, we look pretty rusty and dumb so far
Crap.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Wow, Pullen missed a free throw
Not a good sign.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Pretty physical game thus far...
I wonder if the refs will let it go all game.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Probably not
Nice board from Wall-E.
And a three-point play!
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
We are cold as shit tonight
Only made basket is a transition layup.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
my espn360 just quit...any justintv link

Very nice play by Judge to get the basket and foul...
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
And one
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Nice full court pressure resulting in a turnover.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
We're getting nice penetration and the elbow jumpers are falling.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
I'm loving this midrange game
from Wally, Dom and Jam Sam.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
For those of you looking off the ball, Judge is fighting hard down there on defense. I'm impressed.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Indeed
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Can we get a year out of Merriweather at QB?
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
That was a GREAT board and put back by Dom...
Anticipation, poise, and smooth movement through traffic.
Good stuff.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Yeah
Man, Jake being cold is going to make this game a slog.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
I don't know if he's really cold; he's 0-2
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
0-3
and he missed a FT
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
For him lately, that's icy...
…but at some point, he’ll hit one, and it’ll all come back.
TB - December 29, 2009
Better second 4 minutes than first 4 minutes
Liked what I saw there. Guys taking advantage of the soft spots in the defense, by making mid-range jumpers and getting to the hoop. Don’t just rely on outside shooting.
TB - December 29, 2009
It's the anti-Baylor offensive scheme
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Much better
Dramatic adjustments on defense. No more easy looks.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Wow, found this on FSN Kansas City.
Go Dish Network.
Warden11 - December 29, 2009
You guys playing late, I take it?
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Yep, 8 pm.
Warden11 - December 29, 2009
Looks like a good crowd.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Might be almost 10,000
Perhaps the people of Manhattan are finally realizing we’re ranked 12th?
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Try closer to 11,500-12000
My group of 4 got there about 5 minutes through the first half and wandered around looking for a seat for 10 minutes. Found 4 seats on separate rows and right after the P.A. announcer asked for people to squeeze in.
AlwaysaWildcat - December 29, 2009
Full House almost

Jeez, what are we shooting? 17%?
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Apparently, Dom got some offensive initiative for Christmas.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Better than coal
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Viva le Puerto Rico!
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
That was a snappy steal by Denis. He's kind of all over the place right now.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
As one cools off, so shall another heat up
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Jake w/ the 3. We are a go.

Fire boosters
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
THERE IT IS
BEARD POWER!
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Oh....that pass to Kelly was a thing of beauty. Holy crap, that was Chris Paul good.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Our ceiling is virtually unlimited
If these guards can play like this at the same time.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
As I was watching him push it up the court...
…I was trying to figure out who he was going to pass to. When he let it go, I thought “no way.”
Way. Definitely way.
TB - December 29, 2009
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
He's missed two free throws
Hell is freezing over.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Everybody "rec" this
Now.
TB - December 29, 2009
LUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
That board and putback was so gifted to him.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Oh, lord, what nice hustle play by Jake.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Denis for THR...ASSIST!
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
I see Norris Cole has two quick and early fouls
even with Pullen cold, that could be a huge dagger for the Vikings
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
The dagger has a beard
And a steely-eyed missile glare.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
damn it
gamecast is a little behind…
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Two things
1. That was a gorgeous defensive possession. Simply beautiful.
2. Since we woke up, we are destroying a decent mid-major team.
TB - December 29, 2009
On a side note...that kid with the KSU Santa hat...I have that.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
This game used to be 16-14
And I wanted to separate.
31-14 and counting. Wow, that is elite.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
16-0 run
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
My thoughts as well...
Those kind of runs are what separate good teams from elite ones.
This is becoming an elite team.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
So...who gets the block when, like three guys blocked it?
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Good Jamar!
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Marquette is about to down Huggy Bear
on the Deuce.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Why does Lu always look surprised when he gets the ball?
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
I don't know...
…but that post-to-post passing between he and Kelly was awesome.
TB - December 29, 2009
hey TB
shouldn’t you be working?
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
Yeah, probably
But I felt like coming home to watch the Cats.
You should be talking, Mr. Long Weekend ;-)
TB - December 29, 2009
Hey I'm here right now
having to listen to my k-state alum co-worker listening to the miami game on espn360….
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
Ooh, that sucks
Still, better than the D/FW DMV.
TB - December 29, 2009
But not better than
not working…
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
No, definitely not
TB - December 29, 2009
I think after a bad day, I need to visit Landmark National Bank. They seem like nice people.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Agreed
those commercials are on all the freakin time
AlwaysaWildcat - December 29, 2009
Anatomy of a three point shot...
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Jake starting to look like AJ Abrams. Thoughts?
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Nah...
…he doesn’t take nearly as many ill-advised shots.
TB - December 29, 2009
Almost
Jake’s still missing the happy trail up to the soul patch…
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
AJ wishes he had guns like Jake
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Ain't that the truth
TB - December 29, 2009
don't forget about the chicken legs...
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
I remember watching Abrams...
…up close at Sprint Center in the 2008 Big 12 tournament. He and Augustine were a site to behold.
TB - December 29, 2009
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
My thoughts?
I could live with that.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
A few halftime thoughts
TB - December 29, 2009
1. Yes, he needs to start stepping into his shot again. That fadeaway shit is getting old.
2. Totally.
3. Perhaps.
4. Agreed.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Is everyone sufficiently angry yet?
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
YARRRR!!!
Not really. I’m coming down off my rage buzz.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Always...
…but the wife is half-asleep on the couch, so my anger is more of the pantomime variety tonight.
The double Crown-and-Coke is mellowing me, too.
TB - December 29, 2009
Angry?
Not as angry as usual. It’s hard to build a righteous rage up 21 at halftime.
AMS - December 29, 2009
WTF? Is Willie drunk?
Did anyone just see that? LOL
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
No, please describe
TB - December 29, 2009
Just showboating for the camera like a goofy fan or something
It was… awkward. Mostly because Stan didn’t notice.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Little kids with strap-on imitation beards FTW!
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Love it
TB - December 29, 2009
On the topic of beards
I expect fully half of the men in the student section to sport the chinstrap coming back from semester break.
AMS - December 29, 2009
If I were physically capable of growing one...
…I would.
TB - December 29, 2009
Off-topic halftime discussion...
…in two words, how would you describe Mike Leach?
1. Intolerable tyrant
2. Fair disciplinarian
TB - December 29, 2009
Swarthy buccaneer
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Crazy bastard
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Side note: I've always firmly believed Craig James was a bitch.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
I agreed before...
…and his recent actions have done nothing but cement that opinion.
TB - December 29, 2009
Every time I look at Craig James, I think, "Man, he looks like a guy that should sell cars."
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Given his connections at SMU...
…he could sell some really nice used cars, too.
TB - December 29, 2009
+1
BracketCat - December 29, 2009

mystman995 - December 29, 2009
He is the perfect coach...
…for the town that gave us Buddy Holly, isn’t he?
TB - December 29, 2009
Good first half, but ...
I hope the Cats don’t expect to coast to the win.
AMS - December 29, 2009
Agreed...
…they need to come out in the second half with the mindset that they’re going to blow them away.
TB - December 29, 2009
Dom Sutton: Worst Free Throw Shooting Motion this side of Shaq.

So whatever happened to that poster
who said that Jake Pullen was a ball-hog and should ride the pine to make way for the best recruiting class ever?
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
What? Who in the world said that?
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009

I think he ran away when reality beat him over the head
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
That was a nice play by Jamar in the lane.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Did Lu just reinjure his hand?
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
I hope not...
…but it doesn’t look good.
TB - December 29, 2009
I couldn't tell for sure
It looked to me like he was grabbing his groin, like maybe in he caught an elbow in the junk in that fight for the ball.
AMS - December 29, 2009
let's just hope
Lu then doesn’t got “Nut for a Nut” all over their asses…
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
That could be misinterpreted in so many hilarious ways
TB - December 29, 2009
hmm.....
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
Couldn't have been too bad
He’s back
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Playing with Jake is so unfair
It’s like 6 on 5, because the Beard is its own player.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
This is why KSU will be a bear come tournament time...
If Clemente and Pullen are hot for six games in March, God help anyone who gets in our way.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
I repeat...anyone know why Lu always looks surprised when he gets the ball?
Jesus, it’s like he was waiting for an RSVP from the basket.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Because his mind hasn't caught up to how improved his body is, I guess
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
I think he was thinking passing to Jam for a crushing dunk
Then thought better of it.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Lu gets the ball
Again, so wide open that he got confused and looked for a guard to pass it to, instead of just laying it in.
God bless that big lug.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
I'm gonna miss him for sure.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Dom...
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Kobe
you are a silly bastard…
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
Jesus
Dom just outdid hisself.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Slick pass by Russell, there
Don’t wanna let that get lost in the Dom Shuffle.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Don't look now, but we are up by 27
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
and counting
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
GREAT hustle by Mr. Hustle himself, Chris Merriweather.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Jake just looks so smooth this year.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
It's spelled "smoove"
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Right on.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Over the back calls on JHR are not fair. Dude's freakishly tall. It's an optical illusion.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
This just isn't even fair. We're so much better than CSU that it's like watching our boys run some frat dudes at the Rec.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Exhibit A on why a box-and-one against Jake won't work
Denis for three. It’s just unfair.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Find me a better backcourt. Anywhere.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
I'll take 43% combined from the both of them every night
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
OMG...beautiful feed by Denis.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
10 board for Big Lu
That is his role. Yummy.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Having Lu back ...
gives us a full-time rebounder again. He doesn’t have the Go-Go-Gadget-Arms Beasley had, but Lu positions himself well to get the boards.
AMS - December 29, 2009
I'm gonna love me some March Madness this year.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
I got a fever
and the only cure is more Wally Judge!
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
LOL
Now they’ve gone to the triangle-and-two.
One on Denis and one on Jake.
We shall see how that works. Not well, I predict.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
That was Globetrotter ball on that fast break.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
All we were missing was a between-the-legs pass
Denis actually looked over his shoulder before he did that
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Wow
How about that pass from Denis?
AMS - December 29, 2009
Curtis Kelly
Welcome to double digit scoring again!
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
Jamar's in dubs now, too.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
With a dozen after the sick slam.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Wally? Dom?
Care to join? nothing says teamwork than 6 players in double figures
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
Yeah, that press ain't gonna work
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
LMAO at Jake and Jamar
Bunch of comedians.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
This, my friends, is a good, old-fashioned ass kicking.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Wow, Russell with two really, REALLY dumb passes
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
LOL @ sending the starters back in. Hilarious.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Why not?
It’s Denis’ second to last non-conference home game. You have to cherish the memories!
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
"No, you play like shit, you sit."
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
Legitimate coaching move
You can’t give the reserves playing time when they get lazy like that. They were standing around, inviting the press.
AMS - December 29, 2009
Damn
19 Turnovers. Yikes…
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
Wow, that white dude should loan Pullen his beard
Spectacular effort.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
FYI...RealTimeRPI predicted an 84-60 win tonight.
Pretty close.
Notable other predictions via RealtimeRPI…
vs. KU (Home) – 83-54 KSU
vs. KU (Away) – 87-70 KSU
Numbers don’t lie.
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
If only.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
If those were the betting lines
I’d be betting against K-State (for the spread, not the win) with all my life savings
mystman995 - December 29, 2009
Who else is sticking around for the post-game?
Panjandrum - December 29, 2009
I'll be around for a while
Tech is going down, CU’s trailing Yale at home and KU’s only up by 10.
The night is young.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
"Stan, I think you know why"
LOL. Classic Frank and Stan odd couple.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Tech goes down
90-75
Colorado survives Yale.
BracketCat - December 29, 2009
Good work cats
I was happy to watch that game. After a miserable start, the talent gap really showed. Good work boys. Do that again against SD and we’ll be all set for the Tiggers.
