Welcome, fellow Cat fans, to the Validation Game.
Are we going to show the consistency expected of Top 25 programs, or are we going to fall flat on our face in the Deep South and endure humiliation like Matthew Broderick in "Biloxi Blues"?
To find the answer to that question, check out:
That's it. If you don't meet one of those two criteria, you're doomed to Wyattvision. I'll keep an eye out for streams, but the usual source doesn't live in Kansas, so things look bleak for out-of-staters right now.

Anyone watching Texas pound North Carolina?
For my money, the Longhorns are the best team in the Big 12 — and the country — right now.
Kansas couldn’t even put 54 points on Michigan in a half, much less No. 10 North Carolina. I think Texas wins in Austin and gets the No. 1 seed in Kansas City.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Oops, spoke too soon
Texas fell asleep again.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Spoke too soon again
Texas 103, North Carolina 90
Even Dickie V said Texas is the best team, by a smidge, over Kansas.
Rank ’em #1, voters!
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Meh
It’s too early to tell with those two teams on who’s better. For all we know, we’re better than the both of them…
I don’t think anyone should take what “Dickie V” says too serious. His analysis and opinions are based on which teams are doing hot right now thus creating more bandwagon fans. Well except for Duke and UNC because he’s already given one of his own testicles to each one of the schools.
mystman995 - December 19, 2009
It's never too early to declare
that KU sucks.
My point was that EVEN Vitale can see that Texas is better. He’s usually the last one to notice things.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Who the hell voted for Alabama?
Hater! ;-)
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Xavier down 1, with the ball and 1.2 seconds
Could be a crazy finish in Indianapolis.
Too bad Drew Lavender still isn’t on their team.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Wow, Xavier just got fucked on the worst call I've ever seen
They ran off the clock, saying it had paused earlier and time would have expired during the last Butler shot.
Fuck that shit.
Wait’ll you see this one on SportsCenter. Quite possibly the craziest ending I’ve ever seen.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
So would that be like saying
that Nebraska should have one the Big 12 title game because we’re pretty sure the refs earlier in the game stopped the clock a little too early?
mystman995 - December 19, 2009
Totally different situations, dude
One was a dead-ball situation.
This was live-ball.
Not even remotely comparable.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Sports Center thought it was right
I like replay and giving the refs a chance to fix it, but my thing with that play was that Butler would have seen that they had less time and they would have had to play that last 14 seconds differently. Maybe they would have been in too much of a hurry and screwed themselves over.
Should have left it at what it was. Xavier probably didn’t have much of a chance anyway.
AlwaysaWildcat - December 20, 2009
My biggest problem is that the refs took the game out of the hands of the players
It might technically have been the wrong call, but it’s like ending an NFL game on a penalty and a 10-second runoff: Completely unsatisfying and anticlimactic.
I don’t care how long-shot the odds were. I’ve seen crazier finishes in the NCAA tournament with less time on the clock. The game should be decided by the 10 guys on the floor, not the three in stripes.
I think the rule should be changed such that a minimum of 0.5 second must remain, no matter what. At least give them a chance at a last-second miracle shot. It’s not their fault the homer Butler clock operator screwed them with either incompetence or malice.

jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Called that one two weeks ago
Snaketrap.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Great
Picture is frozen.
This is so third-world, bush-league.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Pretty awful
What’s up with the picture?
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Dial-up
:-)
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
keep me posted on "how we look"...
i am just following the espn box score – being an out-of-stater and all…
VegasCat07 - December 19, 2009
Pretty damn good, so far
22-12 Cats
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Defensive boards look good
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Wichita State is up on TT by 9
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
OU almost lost...
…to N. Colorado. Heheheh.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
That was great
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Yeah, they have NIT written all over them
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Is GameCast correct
and nobody’s scored in 1:35?
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Soon as I said that
Jake hit the three.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
It's late
Jake just ripped off 5 in a row.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
If Bama's going to insist
on shooting 29%, I may need popcorn.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Shoulda kept my mouth shut.
Sorry.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Pullen with the 3s
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
So much for the pundits' retarded assertin
That we won’t shoot like we did in Vegas again.
4 of ’em already.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Congratulations, Jacob Pullen
1,000 career points for Agent Zero.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Tech tied it up
53-53, 8:24
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
PULLEN!!!
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
FIVE 3s FOR JAKEDIAH!!!
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Yes, the power of the amish beard
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Team Pullen looks pretty good
I’m hoping it stays like that in the 2nd.
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
The scary part
is if you subtract Jake, it’s still just a tie game.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Jake's nearly been outscoring Alabama this entire game
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Checkin' IN
Holy crap Jake.
Keep. It. Up.
mystman995 - December 19, 2009
WSU up by 7
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
77-71 WSU
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
This justintv link
sucks. Oh well.
mystman995 - December 19, 2009
Wichititty State is doing EVERYTHING they can to lose
And probably will win regardless.
F you, Tech. We’re taking your spot.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
It looks that way
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
New Mexico
is trying real hard to lose to Creighton, too.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Really?
Ha ha!
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
We could really charge in the AP poll.
Tech, Florida, Georgetown all lost today, and we won’t even speak of what happened to Gonzaga.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Remember when Portland was everybody's darling
for 10 minutes?
Washington 16, Portland 2.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Yeesh
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Wally Judge breakout game?
10 points, 6 rebounds
Kid looks good.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
TIme for a Pullen 3 point drinking game
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
I don't have enough booze.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Yeah, not so much
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
would have to be based on...
drinking when he misses if you value being conscious…
:-)
VegasCat07 - December 19, 2009
Yeah, I've been drinking for a while, but not for that purpose... ;-)
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
UNM caught Creighton
after being down 16. 45-44 UNM, 11:05
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
OK, so how far do we move up?
Ahead of us, these teams lost today (most of them ugly):
No. 9 Tennessee
No. 10 North Carolina
No. 11 Georgetown
No. 13 Florida
No. 15 Gonzaga
No. 16 Texas Tech
I’m thinking 12th in the AP or so.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
12 sounds good
Makes me kinda nervous
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
i will guess 14th
as a conservative estimate. :-)
VegasCat07 - December 19, 2009
It depends on how guys actually do their ballots.
We could move all the way to 11.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Hello, CK
Glad you could join us. ;)
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Or did GameCast bollix it up?
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Talking to myself! Call the shrink!
Yeah, they screwed it up… gave CK a 3, when it was Chavez Davis. /eyeroll
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
So, looking back at the poll
Two of you were wrong.
:-)
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Alabama looks tired and K-State looks bored
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Perfect summary
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
This business of letting them score can stop now.
Bama’s FG% is all the way up to 37%.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
We got Bad Jamar for this game
Too bad.
There were opportunities there for him today, but he can’t finish shit tonight.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Watching him shoot free's
Is like being punched in the crotch over and over.
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
C'mon, guys
There’s no excuse to look this bad against a press.
You see every damn year when we play Mizzou.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
These refs are killing us
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
No, we're killing us
Lack of intensity and focus.
You can’t shut it down against BCS teams until the game is over.
Wake up, Cats.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
A five-point play?
How the fuck do you figure that?
Goddammit.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Please foul anyone but Jamsam
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Nevermind
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Jake's had enough
Decided to start scoring again. :)
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
I'm counting that as a 3
For the sake of ….whatever
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
You're just trying to finish off
that 12-pack, aren’t you?
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Hard to say
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Thing to not like
Jake’s got 5 TOs.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
There's been a lot of points in the past 2 minutes
damn ’Bama is playing hard
mystman995 - December 19, 2009
Yeah...
we need a run to get us out of “let’s foul our way back into this” range.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
OK, I'm glad we have three weeks
To work on the press, before we have to go to Columbia.
Get this shit fixed, Frank.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Hope he gets it fixed in the next 10 days.
Did you see what Cleveland State did to WVU today?
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Yeah, but that won't happen in Bramlage
I only see two teams that I think could come into Bramlage and play well enough to win: Kansas and Texas.
I’m much more concerned about road games.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Agree, but
It’s still concerning.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Interesting stat just now from Ben
20-6 since the 0-4 start to Big 12 play last year.
Only 3 of those games were against rummies.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
Jam Sam Hammer Down!
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
UNM completes 21-point turnaround
ices Creighton. Boo!
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Doesn't affect us
We’ll stay ahead of them.
Man, Creighton has really tanked this year.
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
They're ahead of us in the ESPN poll.
Not that we care, but still. ;)
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
I don't look at that poll
It is irrelevant.
AP all the way
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
That didn't look good
for Clemente’s ankle.
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Frank is doing the most intense drawing on the whiteboard that I have ever seen a coach do
BracketCat - December 19, 2009
30 for Jake.
Gotta love that.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Well there you go
Another solid win.
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
Very pleased.
Looking forward to starting the conference slate at 13-1.
jonfmorse - December 19, 2009
Yes
I’m sending good thoughts. Things are looking good. Let’s just keep it going.
williewildcrack - December 19, 2009
not diggin giving up
50 2nd half points… >.< but, win = a win! Go ’Cats!
