Josh Freeman (and HC Raheem Morris) beat the Packers for their first win of the season.
I saw the second half – Freeman looked ok for the most part. Threw behind the receivers but came up with 2 4th quarter touchdowns to put the Bucs ahead for good. 205 yards, 3 tds, 1 int
On another note, I was really excited to get to watch the game (well, I was only able to watch it because FOX switched from the Bears game since they were being blown out) because of all the possible K-State alums.
Jordy was out with a knee injury and Figurs still hasn’t seen any playing time since he was picked up by the Bucs
Jake: What a stud. He can do it all. That Europe trip was wonderful for his confidence.
Denis: A little ragged at times, but still basically the same ol’ Denis. He’ll do some stuff that makes you shake your head, but then he will amaze you on the next play.
Curtis: Beastmaster. A double-double machine waiting to happen. He has a very well-developed post game. Needs to get his touch back at the line.
Jamar: So much better and more confident than last year. He’s bigger, better on defense and more confident in his shot. Will be handful for most 3s to guard.
Dom: Shot still is rough, but major presence on defense, the boards and scoring in the paint.
Jordan: Block machine and big-time presence in the paint. He will be huge in defending team’s centers. Showed nice stroke on free throws.
Wally: Showed some real flashes of brilliance, but it will take time to put it all together. The sky is the limit, though.
Martavious: Love the hustle and he’s built like a brick shithouse. Good free-throw shooter. He’s Dom’s understudy on defense.
Rodney: Struggled with his shot, but made lots of plays on defense, getting his hand on the ball and disrupting passes. At some point this season, he will win a game for us with his shot – mark my words.
Nick: Holy crap, he’s amazing. Double figures in his first game. We can bring a guard off the bench and not lose anything this year. Defensive presence, good rebounder, great finish on the dribble drive, heads-up on the passes. Complete package and the guard of the future.
Victor and Chris: Nothing spectacular, just steady defensive play off the bench – which is what we need.
Luis: Didn’t play, but looks to have lost some weight. He’ll need to really step up his game in order to get as many minutes as last year.
Overall: We’re going to be really fucking good. Like, we could win the Big 12 good. Sweet 16 good. I can’t wait.
Let the new era begin!

Student section is full
Go John Currie! Brilliant idea!
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Henriquez with the surprise start
Probably just to win the tip drill. Most teams won’t stand a chance against a 7’6" wingspan.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Curtis fucking Kelly!
And JHR with a sick block. I love our length!
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
DOMINIQUE SUTTON
with the follow jam!!!
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
13-0 run
Wow. We’re amazing.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Not a bad start, eh?
Granted, it’s Pitt State, but I like how our guys are intense and didn’t “just show up”.
You can tell they are pumped to get the season started.
EMAW - November 8, 2009
As intense as I've ever seen in November
I love their hustle and how much fun they’re having. Great chemistry.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Nick Russell will be a good one, I suspect.
He’s pretty rangey for a guard, but he’s so smooth.
EMAW - November 8, 2009
All of these freshmen have impressed the hell out of me so far
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
23-3 run
Wait until basketball season, huh, Squawks?
I’d start getting worried, because this team is about 300 percent better in the paint.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Any non-pay feed for this game?
mystman995 - November 8, 2009
It's on FSN Kansas City
Cox Cable 34 in Kansas.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
yeah I just saw that
and in Texas I’m getting a Pac-10 women’s soccer match. go figure…
mystman995 - November 8, 2009
From what I have seen, Lu will have a hard time seeing the court much this season
JHR will start every game, the way he is playing. Instant impact kid. Who was thinking he might redshirt again?
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
How does he look physically?
Does it look like he’s been in the weight room?
mystman995 - November 8, 2009
Lengthy, but he's got some muscle to him
Moves really, really well. Great coordination – not gangly at all.

LOL
What a terrible loss for the Pack.
So the Rams are the only winless team left, right?
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
I think they won last week
So TB was the last team to pick up their first W.
On another note, I was really excited to get to watch the game (well, I was only able to watch it because FOX switched from the Bears game since they were being blown out) because of all the possible K-State alums.

Go figure
Oh, well. Good for Josh.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Jacob Pullen es EN FUEGO!!!
4-5 for 3 in this half. Bad news for the Big 12: He’s money off the dribble now.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Nick Russell
FOR THREE!!!
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
JAM SAM!!!
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Wally = Beasley Lite
It will come.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Wow
Jam Sam just scored with FOUR guys all over him.
Much stronger this year.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Pullen with a sick alley-oop to Martavious Irving
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Pullen with a sick alley-oop to Wally Judge
Rinse and repeat.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Both left-handers
High-flying hoops have returned to Bramlage, folks. Getcha popcorn.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Sign of hope
Denis might be the worst defender on the floor right now, and there are multiple newcomers out there.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Double-double for Mr. Curtis Kelly
10 and 10. I think he could average that.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Gets his first foul with 8:47 remaining
I like.
Good luck to the KU refs trying to foul our guys out in Allen this year. We have too many.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Pitt has adopted the Hack-a-Kelly defense
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Four players in double digits so far
Denis, Jake, CK and Jamar. Nick Russell is close.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
JHR has five blocks
Yummy.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Pullen: 5 of 6 from the arc
Yikes.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Wally Judge has nine rebounds
Just owned an entire defensive possession: Blanketed a guy, altered the shot and rebounded the ball with a great outlet pass.
Best defensive freshman I’ve seen at KSU yet. Light years ahead of Bill Walker and Mike Beasley at this point.
BracketCat - November 8, 2009
Six blocks for JHR
At some point this season, he will break all of crappy Jason Bennett’s records.
